It’s so popular, in fact, that Golden Tree Restaurants has plans to open two new outposts of Fireside Pies, including a location that’s set to open at the Creekside Shopping Center in Lake Highlands in early 2019. Since the opening of the original on Henderson Avenue in 2004, Fireside Pies has attracted a pretty devoted local following for its charred crusts. The fire happened about a month before the Dallas-born pizza spot was acquired by Golden Tree Restaurants, which owns the Golden Chick fried chicken chain. Originally, the restaurant’s new corporate owners expected the renovations on the space to only take about a third of that time, according to the Dallas Morning News. ![]() ![]() An update to the restaurant’s website provides further clarity, indicating that it will reopen in October, more than nine months after the fire. This week, the restaurant’s parent company applied for permits with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for the soon-to-reopen location at 7709 Inwood Road.
